EcoFuelKleanz solution – the green approach to eliminate fuel sludging problemsRising diesel prices and the need to find better fuel effectiveness is prompting many more transport operators to investigate the benefits of EcoFuelKleanz, a unique fuel conditioning system that is being marketed in the UK, Europe and USA by TruckProtect, the company whose InstantFit NECK-IT anti-fuel theft devices have already proved a huge success.
TruckProtect added the EcoFuelKleanz to its portfolio last year and is now launching the unit at the CV Show.
EcoFuelKleanz can be fitted to a whole range of vehicles besides trucks and buses; including vans, cars, plant and machinery, boats and even storage units as it is very effective on conventional diesel but extremely powerful for biofuels.
What they are looking for says the company, is something that can stop fuel sludging to help improve engine life and fuel systems, and reduce emissions.
EcoFuelKleanz can do this, and more. The units needs no power or maintenance, and quickly fitted into the fuel line of all commercial vehicles to prevent fuel sludging which blocks filters and ejectors lessening the effectiveness of the engine and requiring filter and ejector replacement. In addition, acids in the fuel corrode metal pipes and tank surfaces and even engine parts. This means EcoFuelKleanz can:
• Improve fuel quality; • Extend fuel filter life; • Extend pump and injector life; • Increase engine protection and performance and • Reduce carbon and noxious gas emissions.
Explaining the technology behind the EcoFuelKleanz, which does not impede or reduce passage of the fuel to the engine in any way, TruckProtect's ceo Russell Fowler notes the units' role in reducing the effects of microbial contamination in diesel.
"Diesel always contained a percentage of water in which microbes flourish," he says. "Over time the microbes flourish and cause fuel sludging. They also produce very acidic excretions that can even dissolve stainless steel. The sludge blocks fuel lines, filter, pumps, injectors and engines and cause breakdowns. In addition, they contribute to a reduction in fuel burning efficiency and the result is more black smoke and greater emissions. These problems are exacerbated by using biodiesel which absorbs more water in which the microbes flourish.
"The transport industry has long acknowledged the problem of microbe growth by using biocides to reduce fuel contamination, but many of these are expensive and require careful handling. They are also increasingly being banned, which leaves the industry needing to find an alternative solution.
"EcoFuelKleanz works by applying a strong but controlled magnetic field to the microbes immediately the fuel passes through the unit. This has the effect of squeezing out the water contained within the microbes, making them small enough to pass through the filter and injectors so they can be burned as part of the normal fuel burning process. With the microbes burned, there is no opportunity for sludge to build up and no clogging of the fuel lines, filters or injectors."
Russell Fowler adds that while EcoFuelKleanz can be a practical solution for commercial vehicle operators, it is important to remember that microbes are continuously being introduced into fuel and thus the problem cannot be solved in isolation. Diesel also needs to be continuously cleaned, as well as the fuel tank, and operators holding their own fuel stocks are also recommended to fit a pump within their storage tanks that continually circulates the fuel.
"With our hard-won reputation on the line, we would not be promoting the EcoFuelKleanz unless we were sure it could make a positive impact. The product has a 20-year track record of excellence mainly in the marine sector," he says.
"But we are confident these units have the potential to improve engine life and reduce emissions in commercial vehicles to the same degree they have in the marine industry, for which they were originally designed and where they have been a great success.
"Costing only £80 each for standard sizes, the units are already being tested by a number of fleet operators and we get daily enquiries from others who are intrigued to find out if EcoFuelKleanz is the solution they are looking for. I believe it is and I urge them to give it a try," he concludes. |
