StopSpill!
For Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Compliance
The world’s first fuel anti-siphon device (ASD) with an anti-splash valve (ASV) for FUEL SECURITY and FUEL SAFETY.

Diesel spillages on roads kill.
Overfilled tanks, forgotten fuel caps, missing fuel caps, broken fuel caps. Diesel on the road can be as slippery as black ice. It’s dangerous for all road users, but motorcyclists are particularly at risk. Even a few litres can cause a potentially lethal accident. In the UK you can be fined £5,000, along with six points on your licence. You may also be liable for the costs of cleaning up the spill and repairing the road surface – and your insurance rating will suffer. You can be charged with corporate manslaughter. The following statistics are only an indicator of the scale of the problem.
UK DIESEL SPILLS – ACCIDENT STATISTICS The accident statistics used below have been provided to KillSpills by the Department for Transport. The following statistics represent headline data relating to oil /diesel spills:
- 22 people have died on the roads between 2000 and 2005;
- 595 serious accidents on the roads between 2000 and 2005;
- 617 Killed or Seriously Injured accidents on the roads between 2000 and 2005;
- 3,020 accidents resulting in slight injury between 2000 and 2005;
- Oil / Diesel related accidents in 2005 have cost society £33,543,280

Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders Ltd (SMMT) Transport News Brief Week one, Monday 4 January 2010
New fuel anti-siphon device launched - and wins award. TruckProtect has launched what it says is the ultimate fuel-anti siphon device and won the KillSpills Safety Award for 2009. TruckProtect has applied for patents for its Ultimate NeckIt!, which has a unique Fuel Anti-Spill Valve within its world-leading anti-siphon. Importantly, the valve can be retrofitted into existing devices. "This will interest all companies with CSR commitments - it stops spillages, can save lives and prevents fuel theft," says Russell Fowler, CEO at TruckProtect. "It also puts paid to any spurious anti-spillage claims within the sector" More from Russell Fowler on +44 (0)1753 890 911 or

Claims by other devices. Anti-siphon devices with a floating ball valve does not stop spillages. Fuel can be filled above the float and can, therefore, spill on the road. A floating valve is not a closed system. Further, should a tank be tilted or overturned, then the float valve opens to allow fuel flow and spillage. Finally, at high volume filling, floating ball ASDs can cause splashback and spillage. TruckProtect® manufacture a floating ball device, Hercules!TM, and make no such claims about prevention of spillages.
